Terms of Service

1. What the Service does

Less AI is a free web tool. It marks sentences in your text that match common AI writing patterns, then asks an AI model to rewrite them, and checks that numbers, dates, links and names did not change. It also offers a LinkedIn text formatter and a stock-phrase checker that run in your browser. There are no accounts and no paid plans.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter a binding agreement.

3. Your text

• You keep all rights you have in the text you paste or upload and in the rewrite you receive.
• You allow us and our providers to process your text only to produce the rewrite, as described in the Privacy Policy.
• Only submit text you have the right to submit. Do not paste confidential or personal information that you are not allowed to send to a third-party AI provider.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

• create or polish content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful or sexually explicit involving minors;
• produce spam, phishing or scam messages, or to deceive people about who wrote something where that deception is against the law or the rules of a school, employer or publisher;
• send text that you have no right to send;
• get around the character or daily limits (for example by clearing cookies or switching networks to get more rewrites), or use scripts, bulk requests or other automated means to call the Service;
• probe, overload or attack the Service or its providers.

5. AI output

• The rewrite is produced by an AI model and can be wrong, awkward or different from what you meant. Read it before you use it. You are responsible for the text you send, publish or hand in.
• The fact check compares numbers, prices, dates, times, links, email addresses and names between your text and the rewrite. It is a helper, not a guarantee, and it cannot catch every change in meaning.
• The “AI tone” score is our own rule-based estimate of common AI patterns. It is not the result of an AI detector.
• We do not promise that any text will pass an AI detector, or that it will be accepted by a school, employer or publisher.
• Less AI is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Anthropic, Kie.ai, LinkedIn or any other company named on this site.

6. Limits and availability

For now each rewrite is limited to 500 characters, and writing samples to 1,500 characters in total. Each device and each network (IP address) gets 3 free rewrites per day, counted from 00:00 UTC. A rewrite that fails does not count. We also cap the total daily cost of the Service, so rewrites can pause for the rest of the day before your own limit is reached. The pattern check still works while rewrites are paused. The Service depends on third-party providers, including Cloudflare, Kie.ai and Anthropic. We may change, limit, suspend or stop any part of it at any time, and it may be unavailable at times.

7. LinkedIn formatter

The formatter swaps ordinary letters for Unicode characters that look bold or italic. Screen readers may read them badly and search may not match them. Use them sparingly. LinkedIn is a trademark of its owner, and we are not connected to it.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, text and code, belongs to us or our licensors. Names of other companies and products belong to their owners.

9. No warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that results will be accurate, uninterrupted or suitable for any purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us, which is nothing. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Updated terms appear on this page with a new effective date, and continued use after a change means you accept it.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws that apply to the operator of the Service, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in this section removes rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the country where you live.
