Privacy Policy

1. Data we process

• The text you paste or upload. When you click “Humanize”, your browser sends the text to our server. We run it through the request and return the result. We do not write it to a database or a file. Our database only holds the daily counters described below. Files you upload (.txt, .md, .docx) are read inside your browser; only the extracted text is sent, and only when you run a rewrite.
• Your options. The same request carries the choices you made on the page: what you are writing, how much to change (light, medium or strong), the text format, and the model you picked.
• Optional writing samples. If you add writing samples (up to three), they go into the same request and are used for that one rewrite only. Samples are limited to 1,500 characters in total.
• Server logs. For each rewrite our server writes one log line with technical fields only: the event name, the word count, the character count, the format, the scenario, the rewrite level, the model, the time it took, the cost, input and output token counts, whether the request was retried, and, if the call failed, a status code and an error message (ours or the provider’s). The log never contains your text, your sample or the model’s output.
• Technical data. Our host, Cloudflare, processes request data such as your IP address and browser details to serve the site and block attacks, and may keep access logs under its own policies.
• Free-rewrite counter. To enforce 3 free rewrites per day, we keep a counter for your device and one for your network. The device counter is keyed to a random identifier stored in the cookie “lid”. The network counter is keyed to a salted SHA-256 hash of your IP address, cut to 32 hex characters. We never store the raw IP address. We also keep one number per day for the total cost of rewrites, with no link to any person.
• Email you send us. If you write to support@lessai.net, we receive your address and the message, and we use them to reply.

2. What stays in your browser

• The rules that mark AI patterns, the LinkedIn formatter and the stock-phrase checker on our guide all run in your browser. They send nothing to our server.
• If you click “Rewrite the whole email” on the guide, your browser keeps that text in session storage under one key so the home page can fill the text box. The home page deletes the key as soon as it reads it, and the browser also clears session storage when the tab closes.
• We set one cookie, “lid”: a random 128-bit identifier, HttpOnly, kept for one year. It is used only to count your free rewrites and is not used for tracking or advertising. You can delete it in your browser; the network counter still applies. We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics, advertising or session-replay script.

3. Why we process it

• To produce the rewrite you asked for and show it to you.
• To keep the service working and within its limits (500 characters per rewrite, 3 free rewrites per day, a daily cost cap), and to see how fast and how costly each rewrite is.
• To protect the service from attacks and abuse.
• To reply when you email us.

4. Who receives your text

• Anthropic and Kie.ai. The rewrite is done by Claude, a model made by Anthropic. We call it through the API of Kie.ai, a third-party API provider, so your text, your options and any writing sample pass through Kie.ai to Anthropic. They handle the data under their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control.
• Cloudflare, for hosting and security, as described above.
• Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect people from harm.
• We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.

5. How long we keep it

• Your pasted text, your writing samples and the rewrite: we do not keep them. Once the response is sent, our server holds no copy.
• Free-rewrite counters (hashed IP, device identifier, count): stored in Cloudflare D1 and deleted when they are more than one day old, so they stay at most until the next day. The daily cost total is a single number per day. The “lid” cookie stays in your browser for up to one year unless you delete it.
• Log lines with the technical fields above: kept by our hosting platform for as long as its log settings allow.
• Cloudflare access logs: a period set by Cloudflare.
• Emails you send us: as long as needed to deal with your message.
• How long Kie.ai or Anthropic keep the text is set by them. We cannot promise a deletion time on their behalf.

6. Your choices and rights

• Do not paste anything you are not allowed to share with a third-party AI provider, such as confidential client data or other people’s private information.
• Because we keep no copy of your text, there is nothing on our side to export or delete. For anything else about your data, email support@lessai.net to ask about, correct or object to our processing. We will answer as soon as we can.
• If you are in the EU, UK or Brazil, you may also complain to your data protection authority.

7. Children

Less AI is for adults aged 18 and over, or the age of majority where you live. Do not use it to process a child’s personal information.

8. International transfers

Our providers run servers in several countries, so your text may be processed outside the country where you live.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The new version appears on this page with a new effective date. If we add accounts, payments, more cookies or analytics, we will update this page before they go live.
